Publish your school profile to our career site

Raise your school’s profile and attract quality candidates with our career site and directory

With your Staff Management subscription, you can create a custom school profile to publish on the school directory on tes.com (also known as our career site). This allows your school profile – and any open job vacancies – to be showcased to prospective candidates in one place. It’s designed to attract quality candidates by providing insight into your school’s culture and values, while sparing you the effort of building a separate careers page on your own website.

Your career site can improve recruitment outcomes by:

  • Raising your school’s profile – promote what makes your school unique: ethos, culture, location, and more.
  • Custom media and branding – bring to life the story of your school with custom branding, images of your campus or classrooms, community testimonials or perhaps a welcome video from your principal or students.
  • Showcasing job vacancies – all your current open jobs vacancies will be listed and optimised for search our website (and yours if embedded), giving candidates the best chance of finding and applying for career opportunities at your school.
  • Streamlining application processes – provide useful documents or application forms upfront to remove unnecessary administration.

To update your career site and profile page, you must have Administrator role permissions in the Tes Portal.

Brand, edit and publish your school profile

You can set up or edit your school profile and publish it to our school directory (on tes.com) at any time. Simply follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your portal, then go to Administration > School career site. Here you can view how your school profile will appear for candidates.
  2. To start populating your site with your school’s information, assets and custom brand colours, select Edit. Nothing will be visible on your career site until changes are published.
  1. Banner: You can Upload a large banner image for your profile header – this could be a photo of your school or a branded graphic. We don’t recommend adding a Description, as it’s best you source your own images for copyright reasons.
  2. Logo: Upload your school’s logo to display as a thumbnail image.
  3. Photo gallery: to help candidates picture your school life (students, staff, facilities), you can Add images, drag to reorder them, or delete if needed.
  4. Theme colour: to customise buttons and headings on your school profile page, add your primary brand colour (using a hex colour code or colour picker).
  5. School description: In the text section, add a compelling description of your school to attract prospective job candidates. Include information like: benefits of working at the school, the community and location, values and achievements, etc. Formatting is simple text – you can use headings, bullet points, etc., for readability.
  6. Quotes and videos (optional): You can add testimonial quotes (e.g., from teachers or parents about the school). You can also embed videos – for example, a welcome message from the headteacher or a campus tour. To add a video, you’ll need a YouTube or Vimeo link for the video.
  7. Attachments: Upload any documents that you want candidates to be able to download (such as a detailed job application form, school prospectus, recent inspection report, etc.). Remember, once you add an attachment here, it will automatically show up on each job adverts' page as well, under Attachments.
  1. When you’re done editing, select Publish changes at the bottom of the page to save and make your updates live.

Your school’s profile is now published to tes.com.

Note: The school profile page in your Application Tracking System is in Beta mode now and doesn’t currently sync updates with your career site on tes.com. We recommend updating your profile in Tes Portal (as described above) as the source of truth for now.

Share your school profile page

Once your career page is complete and published, you can share it with prospective candidates or in job adverts to promote your job vacancies.

There’s 2 ways you might want to share it:

  1. Direct link: You can share a link to your school profile page in content on your website, social media, or other channels to promote open job vacancies.
    • Log in to your portal, then go to Administration > School career site.
    • Select Copy link to career site and use this URL to direct web traffic to your profile page.
  2. Embed on your website: If you prefer to embed the list of open job listings into a page on your school’s website, select Show live jobs (this might appear as an embed option on the published career site). This will display a small snippet of web code (an iframe code). You or your web manager can add that code to a webpage to display an up-to-date list of your job vacancies. This way, you only have to post a job vacancy on once, and it will show both on Tes and on your school’s site automatically.
